Same beautiful flowers on a compact bushy plant only reaching up to 2.5 - 3 ft. tall. Much more accommodating for smaller gardens. \u003cbr\u003e   Tithonia rotundifolia is a Mexican native. An annual in any region with freezing winters. It's an amazing butterfly attractant and nectar plant. Brilliant orange flowers continue forming until a heavy freeze.  Drought tolerant once established due to a long tap root.   A very low maintenance plant.  Dried pods can be collected to have seeds for next year. \u003cbr\u003e   Sowing: When ground warms into the upper 60s and 70s, loosen soil and sow seeds, covering with 1\/4\" of soil.  Keep watered until germination is underway.  Usually within 1 week.  Can also be started indoors 6 weeks before planting outdoors.  \u003cbr\u003e Hand collected and separated. Seeds do not need cold stratified and are ready to plant when the ground is warms. Plants grown in my front yard milkweed garden and used as a Monarch attractant and nectar plant.
